Mrs. Tlapek's class recently read the story, Mouse Shapes, by Ellen Stoll Walsh. In the story, the mice find a place to hide from the cat...a place full of shapes! The mice use the shapes to create many things, including bigger mice to scare away the cat. Mrs. Tlapek stated, "her students accepted the challenge of using shapes to make their own creations, just like in the story." When the students were finished with their creations, they wrote about them by labeling their pictures and writing a sentence about what they made!
