Dear Parents and Guardians,

As you are likely aware, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued advisories related to the newly identified coronavirus, also referred to as COVID-19.  Per the CDC and the Jefferson County Health Department, we are being proactive by following the same protocols for cleaning, disinfecting, and hand washing we take to help reduce the spread of illnesses like the common cold or flu.

The following recommendations have been made to help prevent the spread of germs:

  • Keep children home when they are sick.

  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or cough or sneeze into the inside of your upper elbow, not your hands.

  • Practice good hygiene and frequently wash hands.

  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

In addition to the above information, the Jefferson County Health Department has a dedicated webpage with additional information and to help with planning and preparedness:

We want to assure you that we will work directly with the Jefferson County Health Department regarding COVID-19 should the need arise.  Thank you for your continued support!
