The Hillsboro R-3 School District is proud to announce that Mrs. Becky Solomon, a dedicated educator at Hillsboro Junior High, has been selected as the district’s 2025 Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award recipient. Earlier this year, Solomon was also named a Regional Teacher of the Year as part of the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's statewide recognition program. That means she's also up for consideration for Missouri Teacher of the Year.
In this latest announcent- The Emerson Award, is a prestigious one that honors 100 outstanding teachers across the St. Louis metropolitan area each year and recognizes educators who demonstrate exceptional commitment, innovation, and impact in their schools and communities.
Mrs. Solomon has distinguished herself through her deep dedication to students, her passion for learning, and her commitment to creating an engaging and supportive classroom environment. Her leadership and influence have made a lasting difference at Hillsboro Junior High and within the district.
The Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award is presented annually by Emerson, celebrating educators who exemplify excellence in their profession. Recipients are selected by the chief administrators of their school districts.
