Meet Mrs. Amy Phillips, Ed.S.
Primary Assistant Principal

Mrs. Amy Phillips

Welcome to Hillsboro Primary! My name is Amy Phillips. I'm the Assistant Principal for grades k-2. I grew up in Hillsboro and returned to the district to raise my family. I'm married with four children ranging in ages 8-15. I have a wide range of educational experience all within the Hillsboro School District. I began my career as a high school special education teacher in a self-contained classroom specializing in students with challenging behaviors. I then transitioned to the position of Process Coordinator for grades K-6 before eventually becoming a special education administrator at Hillsboro Primary. I later decided to expand my reach to all students and accepted the position of Assistant Principal.

I have always valued education and consider myself a lifelong learner. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education Cross-Categorical Special Education K-12, Master's Degree in Elementary & Secondary Administration, Special Education Director Certification, & an Educational Specialist Degree all from Missouri Baptist University. I've just recently enrolled in my doctoral program as well.

I'm very grateful for the opportunity to get to know you and your children! It is my goal to make your transition to the early years of education as smooth as possible. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns!
