70th Annual Gene Steighorst Tournament happens December 8-13th. All games take place at Hillsboro High School.

The Hillsboro R-3 School District will host the 70th Annual Gene Steighorst Basketball Tournament Dec. 8–13 at Hillsboro High School, bringing together eight programs for one of the region’s longest-running high school basketball events.

This year’s tournament field includes Hillsboro, Father Tolton (Columbia), Festus, Lebanon, North County, Northwest, Seckman, and Windsor.

Tournament play begins Monday, Dec. 8, with games scheduled throughout the week. Hillsboro’s first game is set for Tuesday, Dec. 9, at 7 p.m. against Windsor.

The Gene Steighorst Tournament has been a tradition in the Hillsboro community for seven decades, honoring generations of athletes, coaches, and supporters who have contributed to its history. The event annually draws large crowds and showcases competitive basketball from across the region.

The Hillsboro R-3 School District invites families, fans, alumni, and community members to attend and support all participating teams throughout the week.

Game schedules and tournament updates will be posted on the district and high school websites and shared through official Hillsboro R-3 social media channels.
