📢 Important Transportation Update for Families
Parents,
Beginning tomorrow, September 9, our Transportation Department will roll out an upgrade to our bus routing system. 🚌 Each student will receive a school ID card with a lanyard or backpack tag on Tuesday, September 9th during the PM routes.
These IDs are equipped with RFID technology to scan when students board and exit the bus. We will also provide a small instruction handout with the student ID. We ask that all bus riders use these ID cards to scan on and off the buses. 📲 There is an attachment with further details and instructions for My Ride K-12.
Our drivers and Transportation Department have undergone extensive training to prepare for this new system. ✅ While we hope for a smooth start, we want to be transparent that this is a new process and it may take some time to work out all the details. We kindly ask for your patience as we transition. 🙏
🚫 Lastly, this school year our district has seen an increase in requests for students to ride a bus to a friend’s house instead of their assigned pick-up and drop-off. As a district, we will continue our current practice of not allowing bus changes for after-school visits or alternate drop-off requests.
This practice is in place to ensure:
📢 Clear communication with drivers
🪑 Accurate seating and capacity on buses
🛡️ Safe, organized, and consistent transportation for all students
We kindly ask for your understanding and support as we uphold this procedure. 💙💛
Thank you for your partnership in supporting our drivers and Transportation Department. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Friday, September 5th is a big night for Hillsboro High School as it hosts the 5th annual POW/MIA Ceremony and Football Game. The ceremony honors the sacrifices of American service members and their families. The Hillsboro R-3 School District was the first in the nation to be designated a POW/MIA School, and this tradition has become a powerful symbol of respect and remembrance for the community. Many surviving POW's and MIA family members will be in attendance.
The event has brought together students, athletes, veterans and community members to recognize those who were prisoners of war or remain missing in action. The evening includes a solemn ceremony followed by the football game, creating a moment of reflection as well as celebration of freedom.
“I have been very proud of the respect and reverence shown by our students, athletes, staff and community for our American heroes,” said Hillsboro High School Principal Mark Groner. “This event is one of the very best things that our school district does. If you haven’t been able to attend in the past, I wholeheartedly recommend that you be our guests this year. You won’t regret it.”
Hillsboro R-3 School Distict is proud to host this event. The ceremony starts at 5:30pm and Kickoff has been pushed back to 7:30pm. Everyone is invited to attend, and local media outlets are welcome to cover the ceremony and game. The Hillsboro R-3 School District encourages all who value service, sacrifice and community to join in this meaningful evening.

We've had requests from the community to purchase this shirt, so we opened the store! The High School Renaissance Shirts will be sold as a fundraiser for the Renaissance Club.
This cool design is in honor of our fearless leader Mark Groner and his last year as our principal (hence the farewell tour).
The deadline to order the shirts will be on Monday, the 8th.

Please help by donating your caps and gowns! 💙🤍

Pay it Forward by donating your spare caps and gowns! 🎓 The high school will be collecting blue or white caps/gowns during summer school hours and again in August when school starts back up. This will help those students who cannot afford to purchase them. 💙🤍

🌾🎥 Exciting morning at Bridle Ridge Acres!
Today we welcomed KMOV reporter Avery Martinez to our district farm for a special news feature on our Agriculture program. Mr. Martinez spent 90 minutes interviewing Mrs. Jacaty and several of our amazing FFA students before enjoying a guided tour of the farm.
We couldn’t be more proud of the way our students and Mrs. Jacaty represented our district. Their passion for agriculture and the impact Bridle Ridge Acres has had on their lives truly shined through.
This farm has been a game changer — not only for our students, but for our entire community.
📺 Be sure to catch the story on KMOV next Thursday, April 17th, at either 4:30 or 6:00 p.m. You’ll also be able to watch it on the KMOV website.
