Your words matter. That is the biggest takeaway 8th grade students get in Mrs. Ashley McNail’s English classes. Especially in her Creative Writing course. This spring, eight Hillsboro Junior High School students will see their poetry published.
The contest was run by Appelley Publishing, a nationwide program that gives students the opportunity to become published authors. McNail takes great pride in seeing her students succeed. A 2016 Hillsboro High School graduate herself, she enjoys helping students find their voice through writing. Watch the story on YouTube below.
