The Hillsboro R-3 School District is inviting parents, employees, taxpayers, business owners, and community members to help shape the future of its schools.
Here is a link to a quick survey asking for community input.
Earlier this year, members of the community asked the Hillsboro R-3 Board of Education to begin evaluating the district's long-term facility, safety, and operational needs. In response, the Board launched a comprehensive Facilities Master Planning process designed to study current conditions, identify future needs, and gather community feedback before any decisions are made.
District leaders emphasize that no decisions have been made.
Instead, the planning process is focused on listening, evaluating, and learning from the people who know Hillsboro best.
"The future of Hillsboro R-3 is too important to plan without the people who call this community home," Superintendent Dr. Jon Isaacson said. "This is an opportunity for our community to share ideas, ask questions, and help us better understand the priorities that matter most. We want to hear from everyone before any recommendations are made."
Community members are encouraged to participate in several ways, including completing an online community survey and attending one of two Community Engagement Sessions at the Intermediate School, where district leaders and planning partners will provide information, answer questions, and listen to feedback.

District leaders say the Facilities Master Planning process is built on transparency and collaboration, giving the community an opportunity to be part of the conversation from the very beginning.
"Strong schools strengthen our entire community," Isaacson said. "Because the future of Hillsboro R-3 belongs to all of us, it should be planned by all of us."
Additional information, including the Community Survey and future updates on the Facilities Master Planning process, will be available on the Hillsboro R-3 School District website.
