
Due to poor road conditions, the Hillsboro R-III School District will not be in session on Tuesday, December 17, 2019. At this time, there is no change to our school calendar - the last day of school is 05/19/20.


Due to freezing rain and inclement weather tonight and tomorrow, the Hillsboro R-III School District will not be in session on Monday, December 16, 2019.

Hillsboro R-3 School District Notice of Filing Dates for 2020 School Board Election - Notice is hereby given to the general public that the opening filing date for school board elections will be Tuesday, December 17, 2019, beginning at 8:00 a.m. Interested parties may file at the Superintendent’s Office during regular business hours. Candidates may file for one of the (3) three year terms. Individuals will file for the term length to serve as a member of the Board of Education. The closing date for filing shall be Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. If the school is closed due to inclement weather the filing office will be closed as well. Adjusted hours during the holiday season will be posted at the Superintendent’s office. To qualify for the position of Board Director, a candidate must be a citizen of the United States and resident taxpayer of the district, who has resided in this state for one year next preceding his/her election or appointment, and who is at least twenty-four (24) years of age; not delinquent in the payment of any state income taxes, personal property taxes, municipal taxes or real property taxes; have not been found guilty of a felony or misdemeanor under the federal laws of the United States of America or a felony under Missouri law or an offense committed in another state that would be considered a felony in Missouri; not registered or required to be registered as a sex offender. Publication of this notice fulfills the requirements of RsMO Section 115.127, Subsection 5.

Another successful year for the 7th Grade Boat Project! Thank you to the YMCA in Festus for being so helpful with their time and facilities. Thanks to all the volunteers who helped cut the cardboard so boats could be made. Our kids, and teachers, really appreciate it.

The 7th Grade Boat Project has begun! Great to see so many helpers from the community that took time to make hundreds of cardboard cuts.

All 4 Hawks’ BB teams won tonight! The 8th grade teams won vs Windsor in the HJH Classic AND the 7th grade teams beat Desoto at the Desoto Tourn.

Congrats to our 8th grade boys on their strong start to the season, beating Desoto in our HJH Classic Tournament!
