We are so proud of Mrs. Uhlig and her Consumer Science students. Her 8th graders made pillowcases for our military men & women overseas! Students also wrote thank you letters to send with the pillowcases.

HJH is in desperate need of No. 2 pencils! We’ve gone through over 1,000 loaners this school-year and still have 5 weeks to go! Please help us out by adding some to your Amazon cart or Walmart grocery order. You can send them in with your child or drop them off in the office.
Last year was our 1st year of the annual online enrollment that EVERY parent must complete and somehow Mr. Readnour's building was the 1st to complete it. Well, the JH is very competitive and would like to be the 1st one completed this year. We need EVERYONE'S help! Please read the district email and begin your student's enrollment process ASAP. Today our Hillsboro JH State Champs were recognized during their “Walk of Champions” and ringing the Steighorst Victory Bell! Way to go Archers & Coach Gronborg!

Due to the timing of the forecasted storm and the anticipated impact on the morning commute,
the Hillsboro R-3 School District will not be in session on
Friday, March 11, 2022.
Making an early decision to call off school is always difficult,
however, we always try to err on the side of caution and
show courtesy to our families planning for child care.
Please help us give a Huge Hawk Shout-Out to the Junior High Support Staff Person of the Year, Kathy Woodham! Nurse Kathy goes above and beyond for the students in our building and district in her role as head nurse. We are so happy to have her at HJH! Congratulations!
Due to possible snow this Friday, the JH has decided to reschedule the Glow Dance to Thursday, March 17th instead. The time will still be from 5-8pm. We want to make sure students and parents have enough time to adjust their schedules.
Due to the winter weather, the Hillsboro R-III School District will not be in session Friday, February 25, 2022 - Have a safe weekend!
Due to the inclement weather, the Hillsboro R-III School District will not be in session on Thursday, February 24, 2022.
The forecasted timing of the winter storm and the fact that the Winter Storm Warning goes into effect at 12:00 pm tomorrow, is cause for concern.
The district operates with two bus routes, which in total takes 2 1/2 to 3 hours to complete. In order to ensure that all of our buses, student drivers, and staff are not on the road when the predicted ice/snow arrives, we will err on the side of caution.
The Hillsboro R-III School District will not be in session on Wednesday February 23, 2022.
Due to the inclement weather and refreezing, the Hillsboro R-III School District will not be in session on Friday, February 18, 2022. Please stay safe!
Tomorrow, Thursday, February 17, 2022 due to the forecasted timing of the incoming winter storm, the Hillsboro R-III School District will have a 3 hour early release. This information is being shared this evening, to give parents/guardians time to plan for a mid-day drop-off and child care.
The heavy amounts of rain will make pre-treating roads difficult. The temperatures are expected to drop rapidly and potentially cause flash freezing of the roads, especially as we move into the normal K-6th grade run times.
In an effort to ensure the safety of our students and staff, we will be releasing at the following times:
Junior High: 11:20 am
High School: 11:30 am
Intermediate/Elementary: 12:30 pm
Primary: 12:40 pm
*All JH and HS practices will be complete no later than 1:30 pm.
