Summer School Registration is happening now with new links to sign-up in K-12th grade

Summer School is right around the corner in Hillsboro R-3, and now is the time for families to make sure their students are registered.

This year’s program will run from Thursday, May 28 through Tuesday, June 23, offering students across all grade levels a valuable opportunity to stay engaged, build skills, and prepare for the upcoming school year. With strong interest already building, families are encouraged to complete registration sooner rather than later to ensure placement.

What Parents Need to Know

Summer School will look a little different depending on your child’s grade level, but every program is designed to keep students learning in a structured, supportive environment.

  • Kindergarten through 4th Grade: Links to forms right here
    Students will attend a full day from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Elementary building. The program focuses on continued academic growth while keeping students engaged through hands-on learning and activities.

  • Grades 5th through 12th Grade: Links to forms right here
    Summer School for these students will be held at Hillsboro Junior High School.

    • Grades 5–8 attend a full day from 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., rotating through multiple classes and activities.

    • Grade 8 follows a high school-style schedule.

    • Grades 9–12 have flexible options, including half-day (morning or afternoon) or full-day schedules, with opportunities for credit recovery and select electives.

Transportation will be provided for all students and is included as part of the registration process.

Summer School is more than just extra time in the classroom. It is an opportunity for students to stay on track, build confidence, and be ready for the next school year. For high school students, it can also be a critical step in earning credits and staying on pace for graduation.
