A note from the Counselor's Office 03/06

1️⃣Course Selection Meetings Are Happening Now

Here's a link to the PDF so you can dive even further into what's happening in the Counselor's Office.

High school counselors are currently meeting one-on-one with students to plan next year’s classes. Students will bring home their course selections for parent/guardian review and signature, so families should watch for that paperwork and contact counselors if they have questions.

2️⃣ Important Senior Dates Are Coming Up
Several major senior events are approaching this spring, including:

  • May 7 — Scholarship Award Night

  • May 14 — Seniors’ Last Day

  • May 15 — Senior Parade

  • May 17 — Baccalaureate
These are key milestones for graduating students and their families.

3️⃣ College & Career Opportunities for Students
Students have several opportunities to explore career and college paths this spring, including:

  • Missouri State University visit on March 10

  • College and career field trips (beauty programs and health care careers)

  • Medical school early-entry program information
These visits help students learn about programs, majors and career pathways.

4️⃣ Scholarships and ACT Preparation
Students should keep an eye on the counseling office scholarship list, which is updated regularly as new opportunities come in. In addition, practice ACT test dates are available throughout the spring to help students prepare for the official exam.
